PROFILE

IDA SOPHIE FABRICIUS

A CAREER FOUNDED ON IN-DEPTH
EXPERIENCE AND ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT
ISF began as a graphic designer in her native Denmark, undertaking packaging and corporate identity work for high-profile stores and businesses. Embracing interior design in 1983, ISF has since practiced in Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and the USA. Having gained a Masters Degree (with Distinction) in housing design sociology in the 1990s at University College London, ISF has lectured for the UCL both in the UK and abroad, whilst also publishing and running promotional projects for the university (such as an international UN conference in Mumbai).

AN ESTABLISHED UK CLIENT BASE
ISF’s career broadened with her managerial and directorial roles for prominent brand names such as Harrods and the Mulberry Company, heading up their highprofile interior design studios and project portfolios, whilst also working on seasonal trend-casting, branding and product development.

Now, as STUDIOFIFTYFIVELONDON, ISF provides interior design services for private clients, as well as commercial design services for corporate customers. In the UK, her private work has involved properties in Knightsbridge and Park Lane, a quadruple duplex penthouse on the Chelsea Embankment and two duplex penthouses in The City of London.

EXTENSIVE INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE
Internationally, STUDIOFIFTYFIVELONDON has been responsible for luxury villa design schemes in Dubai; a palace in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia); residential villa conversion/interiors projects in Santiago, Chile; an old school in Provence, France, and a plantation home/hotel on the Caribbean island of St. Kitts. Recent international work has involved an international exhibition in the Arctic and a loft apartment in Connecticut, USA.

Since the early 1990s, ISF has also been involved with consultancies for international universities and organisations such as the EU and UN. Providing an academic perspective, balanced with clear, sustainable and commercial application to housing design, her lectures and training courses have enjoyed international recognition in London, Copenhagen, Brussels, Lilongwe and Santiago de Chile.

A MUTUALLY REWARDING RELATIONSHIP
Given ISF’s international experience and expertise,  STUDIOFIFTYFIVELONDON can offer a confident, comprehensive service based on sound, insightful advice and indepth knowledge. In addition, ISF’s personal passion for design, her respect for a positive client relationship and her pragmatic hands-on approach ensures a smooth and seamless progress from initial discussions and project brief through to full and final completion: on time, within budget – and always beyond expectations.
